Cambodian Teak
Plantation
Located in Kampong
Speu province. Clark Forestry Consulting, SRP
International Group, and The International Woodlands
Company have established a 10,000 hectare Teak Plantation.
This project is using all the seedlings from the nursery
operation. We are switching from growing from seed to tissue
clones for Teak seedlings as the genetics (phenotypic
appearance) are more certain with clones.
We are reforesting a
completed logging concession and providing employment for
over 200 full time local workers and well over 2000
temporary (seasonal) workers. Soybeans are being
intercropped the first two years to provide nitrogen in the
soil and to the trees as well as help feed the employees.
Cambodian Nursery / Reforestation
Nestled in the Kampong Chom and Battambang Provinces of Cambodia. Clark Forestry Consulting, partnering with the Provincial governments and SRP International, has started a tropical hardwoods nursery and plantations. The seedlings grown in this nursery are being planted in deforested or abandoned agriculture areas within the provinces. There are currently 2500 hectares under lease with additional available.
Benefits of this project are numerous. They include:
Reforestation, carbon sequestration, carbon credit, seedling improvement, forest certification, ability to harvest other areas for income for the government, wildlife habitat, water purification, air purification, soil stabilization, employment, technology transfer, training, eco-tourism, and much more.
African Agro forestry and cooperative marketing
The New Ghana Youth
Development Program contacted Clark Forestry Consulting to
assist in researching and developing a cooperative to grow
row crops, pasture and Draft Mangoes in Ghana to enrich the
livelihoods of communities. Employment in rural areas
is badly needed as well as the technology transfer to teach
the citizens the skills needed.
This project will also have
the effect of combating desertification in the area due to
the crop cover and irrigation
